Job Summary

Ophthalmic Technician responsible for greeting patients, obtaining patient history and transcribing into the EHR during examinations, recording physician fee tickets in the EHR, maintaining patient confidentiality, escorting patients to exam areas, assisting physicians by obtaining supplies, and supporting the technician team. Performs visual acuity testing, autorefraction, lensometry, tonometry, and determines if further testing is needed. Conducts visual field, glare, color vision, and Schirmer's tear testing as required, and reviews charts to post tests in EHR. Ensures proper sterilization of equipment and autoclave maintenance, stocks supplies, cleans exam rooms, and adheres to safety and policy guidelines. Regular travel to satellite locations may be required.
