Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for workups, education and follow-up of patients. Performs and communicates diagnostic tests and procedures (Humphrey Visual Field, OCT, A-scans, Corneal Topography, Amsler grid, color testing, etc.), assists in minor procedures, and prepares patients for laser procedures and surgeries. Conducts in-office and telephonic patient education, maintains HIPAA confidentiality, cross-trains in back/front office duties, and supports back-office inventory. Travel up to 50% to multiple clinic locations in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
- 2+ years’ experience as Ophthalmology Technician preferred
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)/Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
- Experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred.
