Ophthalmic Technician

Conduct complete ophthalmic history and preliminary exams, including sub-specialty tests such as refraction, VF testing, A-Scan Biometry, and contact lens evaluation. Dilate pupils, check visual acuity, and monitor extraocular movements while preparing patients for ophthalmology examinations and minor surgical or laser procedures. Administer eye medications, maintain sterile fields, and perform preventive maintenance on ophthalmic instruments. Record medical histories in the EMR system, safeguard patient records, and counsel patients on prescribed drops, contact lenses, and surgery requirements. Process prescription refill requests and maintain exam room inventory.
