Job Summary
Take medical histories, perform visual function and diagnostic tests including applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy, and utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to measure eyes. Dilate patients for exams, explain proper use of eye drops and contact lenses, and inform ophthalmologists about changes to visual acuity. Assist providers with administrative tasks and inventory management while maintaining accurate records. Required Qualifications
- Healthcare experience
- Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with EMR tools
- Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
- Completion of an ophthalmic assistant or technician program (COA or COT)
