Job Summary
Review patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information. Perform testing ordered by the physician based on the exam schedule, patient complaint, or history. Act as a medical scribe while examining patients, entering data into electronic medical records. Take an ocular and systemic history, accurately record visual acuity, and administer topical or oral medications under physician direction. Assist with simple in-office procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide patient education. Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and comply with all practice procedures, State, and Federal regulations. Report inventory needs to leadership, participate in daily team huddles, and report potential errors to the supervisor or Compliance Officer. This role supports Georgia Retina's board-certified ophthalmologists in providing advanced retinal disease treatments across 13 Metro Atlanta locations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred
- Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred
- Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
