Job Summary
Review patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information. Perform clinical tests ordered by the physician based on the exam type, patient complaint, or history. Take an ocular and systemic history, record visual acuity, and administer topical or oral medications under physician direction. Assist with simple in-office procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide patient education. Maintain exam room cleanliness, orderliness, and inventory levels while complying with all State and Federal regulations and practice protocols. Work in a fast-paced clinical environment supporting the ophthalmologist at Houston Retina Associates, a leading practice specializing in advanced retinal care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred
- Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred
- Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
