Job Summary
Obtain and document patient history, determine visual acuity, and perform automated refraction while administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered. Measure intraocular pressure, perform pre-operative preparation, and maintain equipment and instruments. Enter data into the EMR and follow office workup protocols to provide high-quality direct patient care under the supervision of ophthalmologists and optometrists. Requires dependable transportation for travel to various locations and flexibility to support the network.
Required Qualifications

- The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
- The ability to recognize inconsistencies
- High School diploma or GED
- Associate degree
- 2+ years of experience in eye care
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, including the ability to use power hand tools and lift a minimum of 70 lbs
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Willingness to submit to a background check (drug screen for Ambulatory Surgery Centers only)
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands, fingers, and computer equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to [XX] pounds
