Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician for Heart of America Eyecare P.A. in a Monday–Friday day-shift clinic with no weekends or holidays. The role focuses on patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting, including interviewing patients, documenting histories, updating charts, and performing a range of ocular tests and refracting. Responsibilities involve hands-on eye measurements and diagnostics (HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Pupil Exams, refracting), EMR proficiency, and strong communication and hospitality skills to ensure the best patient care experience. Certification is a plus and the position emphasizes attention to detail and tech-savvy use of Microsoft Office in supporting patient care and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Have some Refractions experience
- Experience in checking overall vision, identifying chief complaint
- various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)
- Strong communication skills
- Strong hospitality skills and patient care focus
- Attention to detail
- Tech savvy with strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Certification is a plus
