Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician at EyeCare Partners in Wichita, KS, assists the ophthalmologist by performing initial patient testing and preparing patients for exams. Responsibilities include exceptional patient service, managing patient flow, HIPAA compliance, recording medical history and medications in EMR, verifying patient information, and preparing exam rooms. Required skills include dilation, refraction, intraocular pressure assessments, and a variety of diagnostic tests (visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL Master, auto refractor, topography). Demonstrates knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and ocular medications; documents visits and procedures; and supports treatment prep while maintaining a clean, stocked clinical environment. The role requires the ability to work over 40 hours and weekends as needed, with proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office tools. Likely in-person clinical duties within Ophthalmology department.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Required: High school diploma or GED
- Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred, but not required
