Job Summary
Monitor vital signs, transport patients, and perform fingerstick blood sugar checks while maintaining strict aseptic technique. Assist the physician during laser procedures, pre-op assessments, and post-op instruction reviews. Manage OR supplies by stocking inventory, checking sterilizer and refrigerator temperatures, and documenting results on monthly logs. Discontinue Hep-Locks and report pertinent patient observations to nurses or physicians. Act under direct supervision to maintain a safe environment and initiate emergency measures for adverse conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
- Ability to work weekends when applicable
- Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to effectively perform essential job functions involving frequent walking, sitting, and standing
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach
Desired Qualifications
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification
- Desire to gain industry knowledge and training
