Job Summary
Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy, then perform clinical tests ordered by the physician based on the exam type and patient history. Take ocular and systemic histories, record visual acuity, and enter data into electronic medical records. Administer topical or oral medications under physician direction, assist with simple in-office procedures, and obtain informed consent. Maintain exam room cleanliness, report inventory needs, and participate in team meetings. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations while assisting with patient education.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred
- Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred
- Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
