Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity, lensometry, keratometry, refractometry, and tonometry. Perform diagnostic imaging such as OCT, topography, pachymetry, and IOL Master while documenting medical history and symptoms in the Electronic Medical Record. Initiate patient exams, room patients, transport them within the facility, and instruct patients on proper eyecare. Stock and disinfect examination rooms, adhere to drug sample regulations, and ensure supply expiration dates are current. Travel may be required to accommodate staffing levels at other clinical facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent
- One-year prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Assistant
- Two years prior experience as a technician in an Optometry Clinic
- Successful completion of OSUP's Ophthalmic Personnel Training Program
