Job Summary
Performs routine vision screening; administers eye medications; cleans ophthalmic instruments; prepares treatment rooms; assists ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, and physicians. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of relevant experience; certification as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred, with possible specialized certifications as needed.
