Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician needed to support ophthalmology services within CHN, performing pre-exam tasks, documenting patient histories, operating ophthalmic equipment (Auto lensometer, Autorefractor, Humphrey Visual Fields, Fundus photography, OCT), measuring visual function, and maintaining patient flow and room cleanliness. Role involves informing patients about test purposes, providing telephone support for ocular emergencies and scheduling, and ensuring accurate documentation. Requires either an Associate Degree in a biomedical field with relevant hospital/health facility experience or a High School diploma/GED with substantial related experience; COA certification is preferred. Located in Queens, NY (Jamaica and Queens areas) with in-person duties at the office.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Technician field + 3 years of related hospital/health facility experience
- High School diploma or GED + 4 years of related experience in biomedical technical field
- Current COA certification (preferred)
