Job Summary

Prepare patients for ophthalmologists, triage telephone issues, and document findings in charts. Perform accurate refractions, visual field testing, a-scan, and corneal topography. Complete thorough medical work-ups including history taking, medication reviews, and intraocular pressure checks. Assist with fundus photography, fluorescein syringe preparation, and sterilization of instruments. Support ophthalmologists with minor surgical and laser procedures while maintaining equipment cleanliness and ensuring biomed reviews are current. Open and close examination rooms, cleaning as necessary. Work full-time 8-hour shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm, 40 hours weekly, with an up to $5,000 sign-on bonus for COT certification.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)

  • possesses knowledge and skills in clinical optics
  • possesses knowledge and skills in basic ocular motility

  • possesses knowledge and skills in ocular pharmacology
  • possesses knowledge and skills in photography
