Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician responsible for patient workups, education and follow-up; perform diagnostic testing and pre-testing (Humphrey Visual Field, OCT, A-scans, Corneal Topography, Amsler grid, color testing), assist in minor procedures, prepare patients for laser procedures (blepharoplasty, injections, YAG, SLT), and manage paperwork for surgeries. Include in-office and telephonic patient education with proper chart documentation, HIPAA compliance, cross-training in back/front office procedures, and back-office inventory. Travel to multiple LA/OC clinic locations up to 50% may be required. This is a full-time, in-office role with no remote work.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in Ophthalmology preferred
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred
- Ability to type 45 wpm
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
