Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician responsible for work-up, education and follow-up of patients; perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing (Humphrey Visual Field, OCT, A-scans, corneal topography, Amsler grid, color testing); assist in minor procedures and prepare patients for laser procedures (blepharoplasty, injections, YAG, SLT); manage paperwork for surgeries and ensure proper documentation in patient charts; in-office role with full-time, in-person schedule; travel up to 50% to multiple LA/OC locations; strong HIPAA compliance, bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, EHR experience beneficial; must prioritize workflow, communicate effectively with patients, doctors and staff; cross-train in back/front office, maintain inventory; standard physical demands including lifting up to 45 pounds; monday-friday shifts with occasional overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Ability to type 45 wpm.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) / Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
