Ophthalmic Technician Assistant - Part Time

Job Summary
Greet patients, document visit reasons and symptoms, and perform basic eye tests while explaining procedures clearly. Maintain patient flow by coordinating prior authorizations, processing prescription refills, and tracking laboratory results. Provide education on medication and post-operative care, then document follow-up notes in the electronic health record. Manage exam rooms by cleaning equipment, securing instruments, and logging refrigerator temperatures and supply inventory. Adhere to HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards while responding to work emails and participating in training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience in a medical office or customer service environment
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Skilled in problem-solving with attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferred or enrolled within twelve (12) months of hire and completion within two (2) years of hire
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC)
