Ophthalmic Technician

Conduct complete ophthalmic history and preliminary exams, including sub-specialty tests such as refraction, VF testing, A-Scan Biometry, and contact lens evaluation. Dilate pupils, check visual acuity, and prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations while communicating results to the Attending Physician. Administer eye medications, clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments, and set up sterile trays for minor surgical and laser procedures. Record medical history in the EMR system, safeguard patient records, and counsel patients on prescribed drops, contact lenses, and surgery requirements. Maintain exam room stock, process prescription refill requests, and ensure compliance with legal regulations and preventive maintenance standards.
