Job Summary
Greet patients, escort them to rooms, and obtain chief complaints, medical history, medications, allergies, and eye history. Check eye prescriptions with a lensometer, then assess vision, pupils, motility, visual fields, IOP, and color vision. Complete refraction and perform eye dilations as applicable, ensuring consent forms are signed. Assist with lasers and injects in the office, clean instruments and exam rooms, and maintain stock of supplies. Adhere to HIPAA privacy requirements and organizational policies while translating for patients if needed. This role supports the UofL Health Eye Institute's mission of patient-centered care within a fully integrated regional academic health system.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to speak Spanish
Desired Qualifications
- JCAHPO certification and COA/COT
- Knowledge of ophthalmic testing
