Job Summary
Ophthalmic Tech position in Houston performing manual refraction and a range of testing and clinical support duties.Responsibilities include reviewing patient charts for completeness, conducting tests per exam type, acting as a scribe and entering data into EMR, taking and recording ocular and systemic history, performing lensometry, refractometry, tonometry and related assessments, administering diagnostic tests and medications under physician direction, assisting with in-office procedures and training other ophthalmic assistants, educating patients, maintaining exam-room cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with practice procedures and regulations. Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork are required to support efficient patient flow and high-quality eye care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred.
- COA/COT certification preferred but not required.
- Ophthalmic experience preferred.
