Job Summary
Ophthalmic Scribe responsible for documenting physician encounters in EMR, assisting with patient examinations, transcribing histories, examinations, impressions, plans, results, and orders, and coordinating with surgical and check-in/check-out teams. Requires eye-care knowledge, EMR proficiency, ability to document procedures (including corneal topography, fundus photos, retinal nerve fiber layer measurements), E-prescribing, and supporting in-office procedures; emphasis on accurate documentation, patient interaction, and collaborative care. Training offered; full-time role in Plano, TX with competitive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- One year of ophthalmic scribe/technician experience in ophthalmology setting (or equivalent related ability) preferred
- COT or COA certification and Ophthalmology knowledge or Medical/ Ophthalmic Scribe experience desired
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
- Well organized and attentive to detail
