Job Summary
Document patient history, findings, and treatment plans in real-time while performing complete ophthalmic exams, sub-specialty tests, and preliminary assessments. Enter and update patient information in the EMR, assist with minor procedures, and prepare sterile fields for exams. Coordinate with the healthcare team to streamline workflow, counsel patients on prescribed medications, and maintain accurate medical records. Cross-train as a technician as needed to support patient care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Close visual acuity (with or without correction)
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting and/or experience as a scribe
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
- Certified Ophthalmic Scribe (COS)
