Ophthalmic Operations Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervise overall day-to-day operations of a defined area within The Eye Center, including preoperative, operative, and post-operative surgery patients. Lead in-service and team meetings, resolve patient relations issues, and coordinate staff shifting to ensure timely study patient care. Manage medical and office supply purchasing, maintain inventory systems, and oversee equipment maintenance and facility safety training. Provide on-going performance feedback, conduct daily huddles for clinic flow updates, and assist with annual performance reviews. Participate in professional development, attend safety meetings, and maintain SuperUser proficiency with the electronic medical record.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be skilled Certified Ophthalmic Tech
- cross-trained in patient exam and operating room procedures
- Five (5) years job related experience
- two (2) years in a leadership role
- BLS/CPR certified
- Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs
- Must be able to carry objects up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk occasionally to frequently
- Must be able to sit occasionally
- Must be able to perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Must be able to handle Blood-borne pathogen exposure
- Must be able to handle Bio-hazardous waste
- Must be able to handle Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
- Must be able to handle Communicable diseases
- Must be able to handle Electrical shock
- Must be able to handle Floor Surfaces
- Must be able to handle Hot/Cold Temperatures
- Must be able to handle Indoor/Outdoor conditions
- Must be able to handle Latex
- Must be able to handle Lighting
- Must be able to handle Patient care/handling injuries
- Must be able to handle Radiation
- Must be able to handle Shift work
- Must be able to handle Travel
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment, including respirators
Desired Qualifications
- JCAHPO certification
- knowledge of office-based and/or ASC operating room procedure
- Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software applications
