Ophthalmic Clinic Technician

Obtain patient history including chief complaint, medical history, and allergies; perform visual acuity, visual fields, motility, pupillary function, dilation, and ocular tonometry. Maintain patient flow by contacting no-shows, rescheduling appointments, and altering test sequences to support physician visits. Execute opening and closing duties such as inventory counts, drug preparation, sterile instrument prep, and room cleanliness. Troubleshoot equipment including projectors, tonopen, and autoclaves; occasionally assist with laser procedures, injections, and minor treatments. Provide compassionate care and educate patients on eye drop instillation. Maintain supply stock levels and support patients with exam chair access. Requires valid CPR certification, high school diploma, and one to two years of ophthalmic assistant experience.
