Job Summary
Clinic Assistant at Newmedica, Whiteley site: you will see patients for a range of diagnostic tests, help them feel at ease, and relay test results to senior clinicians to determine next steps. You’ll use various equipment and diagnostic programmes, work with patient records and GP/patient correspondence, and communicate clearly in English. The role emphasizes customer-facing interaction, comfort with new systems (Office 365 and patient-record software), and teamwork. This is a busy, frontline role with training provided; there is potential progression into ophthalmic technician or theatre scrub technician paths. The position requires 37.5 hours over 4 days per week, including weekends on a rota, and eligibility to work in the UK with DBS checks; salary offered is £25,500, plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Full training provided; experience in patient-facing role preferred
- Knowledge of eye physiology or interest in ophthalmology
- Proficient with Office 365 and patient record/diagnostic systems
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience handling patient records and diagnostic data
- Team player and able to support colleagues when required
