Job Summary
Ophthalmic Assistant needed to join Vance Thompson Vision. Responsibilities include performing patient workups and preliminary tests (visual acuity, patient history, lensometry), conducting diagnostic tests such as keratometry, topography, tonometry, pachymetry and visual fields, facilitating efficient patient flow, triaging patient phone calls, opening/closing and stocking exam lanes, sending prescriptions to pharmacies and handling prior authorizations, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective communication. The role supports ongoing professional development and emphasizes delivering an excellent patient experience in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; AAO home study training and prior patient care experience are preferred. Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience and/or training with completion of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) home study preferred
- Previous patient care experience preferred
