Job Summary
Ophthalmic Assistant needed to join Vance Thompson Vision. You will perform patient workups and preliminary tests (visual acuity, patient history, lensometry) and diagnostic tests (keratometry, topography, tonometry, pachymetry, visual fields) per protocol; verify insurance coverage and in-/out-of-network status; triage patient inquiries; manage prescriptions and prior authorizations; educate patients on refractive, laser, and surgical procedures; schedule refractive, laser, and surgical procedures; assist with documentation in the EHR; maintain patient flow and communicate with leadership regarding patient concerns.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience and/or training with completion of the AAO home study preferred
- Previous patient care experience preferred
