Job Summary

Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician provides patient history, conducts baseline Visual Assessments, and assists with testing (Visual Fields, Pupillary Assessments, Lensometry, Keratometry) and minor procedures. Schedules initial and follow-up appointments, administers eye drops, and supports overall clinic flow and patient satisfaction. Requires JCAHPO certification (COT/COA) or eligibility to obtain COA within 2 years, with two years of ophthalmology clinical experience (or one year with COA pending). Compensation and classification are determined based on background and licensure/certifications.

  • JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) with two years of clinical ophthalmology experience OR JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with two years of clinical ophthalmology experience OR one year of clinical experience with ability to obtain COA certification within 2 years of hire
