Job Summary
The Ophthalmic Assistant is key in conducting measurements and tests to assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment. Responsibilities include administering topical ophthalmic medications, performing advanced ophthalmic procedures, recording patient histories and visual acuity, managing patient flow, and maintaining exam room cleanliness. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, accuracy in task execution, and the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a bachelor's degree preferred, and 0-2 years of experience as an ophthalmic assistant.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with attention to all details of a project or task
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using good listening skills
- Ability to make sound decisions using available information
- Can be relied upon to demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work with others and independently for a common goal
- Relevant computer skills
