Job Summary
Conduct measurements and tests providing the physician with diagnostic information, including OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry, and slit lamp exams. Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy, take ocular and systemic histories, and record visual acuity. Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications, act as a scribe entering data into electronic medical records, and perform advanced ophthalmic procedures. Assist with patient education, ensure office procedures are followed, and oversee patient flow throughout the day. Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and comply with all State and Federal regulations. This on-site role at Retina Group of Washington, Leesburg, VA requires travel to multiple locations and offers a salary range of $18-$34.68/hr.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 0-2 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience
- 2+ years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience
- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception), normal range of hearing
- ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (gloves, face mask, eye shield, gown)
- standing for long periods of time
