Job Summary
Ophthalmic Assistant supports ophthalmology clinics by performing preliminary screenings and assisting physicians: collecting detailed patient ocular histories, obtaining visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, and pupil exams, instilling ocular medications, and conducting visual field testing. Maintains ophthalmic exam lanes/equipment, cleans and stocks exam rooms, and ensures patient confidentiality. Requires CPR certification and at least one year of eye-related experience; COA/JCAHPO knowledge preferred. This is a full-time daytime role in Greensboro, NC, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a $6,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- CPR certification (American Heart Association OR American Red Cross) required
- One year work experience, preferably in an eye-related field
- Nice to have: Previous work experience in ophthalmology preferred
