Job Summary
RCM Specialist (Ophthalmology) responsible for claims submission (electronic/website/paper), payment posting, A/R follow-up, denial management, COB coordination, and payer communications. Requires expertise in CPT/ICD-10, EOB interpretation, HIPAA compliance, and strong billing/accounting skills. Experience in ophthalmology billing (3+ years preferred) and a High School Diploma or GED. Preferred credentials include CPC, RHIT, CCS, or CMC; proficiency with standard office software and practice management systems. Must be able to work in a healthcare-office setting with potential remote work and travel between locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of Medical Insurance Billing
- Experience with CPT and ICD-10
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10; familiarity with medical terminology
- Interpersonal skills; customer service; verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Practice management software and clearing houses experience
- HIPAA guidelines knowledge
