Job Summary
OPFOR Media Role-player to support NATO JWC exercises by creating strategic adversarial news and social media content. Responsibilities include reviewing scenario documentation, coordinating with OPFOR StratCom and Chief Media to produce media content for multiple TV, online, and social outlets; advising scripters on media implications of incidents; developing media injects to support storyboards and EMPLOYEX; scripting OPFOR news articles and social content per SOP; synchronizing media across the life cycle; reviewing and copy-editing OPFOR media content for consistency; tracking media activity and adjusting content to reflect TA actions; coordinating with SMEs across Response Cells and other teams; attending OPFOR meetings; providing daily inputs to the exercise media product matrix. Requirements include post-secondary education or equivalent, at least 5 years of StratCom-related experience, operational-level exercise experience, proficiency with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, an online portfolio of published media content, and active NATO or U.S. security clearance; location in Stavanger, Norway or Norfolk, VA; travel may be required. This is a part-time role with in-person work obligations at specified locations.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent practical experience in current affairs, media and military information domain
- At least 5 years of professional real-world or exercise experience in support of military StratCom (PA/IO/PSYOPS) to include creation of print/broadcast/social media content
- Operational-level military exercise experience within the last 10 years
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Portfolio with at least 5 examples of published media content in support of military public affairs or information operations
- Current NATO Secret Security Clearance (active)
- Demonstrated proficiency in English per STANAG 6001 (SLP 4444) or equivalent
- Clearance: active NATO or U.S. SECRET or higher security clearance
- Location: NATO Joint Warfare Center, Stavanger, Norway; Travel: CONUS and OCONUS may be required
