Job Summary
Water Truck Driver responsible for safely operating a water truck to transport and distribute water for dust control, soil compaction, and site maintenance across multiple project sites. Perform dust-control spraying on roads and work zones, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitor water levels, document vehicle usage and maintenance, and coordinate with field crews to prioritize watering. Adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards; be prepared for overtime, weekends, and travel between sites in Forest Hill/Waynesville, NC. Requires communication with field supervisors, reliable teamwork, and the ability to work in outdoor, potentially challenging environments. Previous experience operating heavy equipment and a valid CDL (Class A or B) are required; OSHA or similar safety training is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating water trucks or similar heavy equipment
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Class B or Class A required
- Proven ability to safely operate heavy equipment in active construction or disaster recovery environments
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as required by project needs
