Operator - Water Treatment

Job Summary
Operate and monitor water treatment systems including reactors, filtration units, chemical dosing systems, and reclaim systems. Conduct routine water sampling and analysis to adjust treatment processes, while performing data analysis and trending of water quality, flows, and system performance. Monitor site-wide water systems and support overall water balance management by executing water transfer plans and contingency actions. Safely handle treatment chemicals and respond to operational upsets such as pump failures or water quality exceedances. Maintain accurate records and coordinate with Mining, Environmental, Infrastructure, and Processing teams to ensure compliance with recycle and discharge requirements. Work a two-week on, two-week off rotation at the Blackwater Mine site in central British Columbia.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in water treatment or sewage treatment plants, with processing/industrial water treatment experience prefeed
- Level I Water Treatment Certification
- Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
- Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
- Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
- Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to work night shift
