Job Summary
The Utility Operator performs a wide range of labor and plant support activities including cleaning, equipment operation, and maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include operating hand and power tools, conducting equipment inspections, and performing janitorial duties. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work various shifts, and effective communication skills. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a preference for experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and mobile equipment
- Ability to read, understand, and follow warning labels, safety instructions, and signage
- Ability to work various shifts, including rotating, extended hours, and respond to call outs
- Ability to work outdoors in demanding physical conditions
- Ability to efficiently work both as a team and individually
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and on radio
- Must be available for on-call rotation, shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
- Ability to pass required background checks, physical examination, and drug screening
