Job Summary
Operator responsible for loading/unloading product, maintaining equipment and grounds, and supporting safe, efficient terminal operations. Daily duties include performing loading/unloading functions, inspecting and maintaining equipment and facilities, monitoring refrigeration systems and gauge readings, and maintaining records and manuals. The role requires adherence to training, environmental, health and safety programs, and may involve assisting with training other operators, coordinating with Emergency Response Personnel, and performing hazardous material response duties when needed. The position supports a progressive Operator Development Program, requires on-call availability, and involves shift work (12-hour rotating shifts) with potential travel to other facility locations. The role emphasizes safe operations, compliance with procedures, and contributing to capital and maintenance projects as part of a larger operations team.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent; plus equivalent of 2 years college, Military/technical training, or related work experience
- HAZMAT certified (post-employment requirement)
- Able to understand and follow operating procedures
- Refrigeration knowledge commensurate with position level
- Good communication skills
- English proficiency (read, write, comprehend)
- Basic computer skills and data entry
- Ability to work in a continuous operating environment
- Shift work: 12 hours rotating shifts (6am–6pm, 6pm–6am)
- On-call 24 hours per day with proximity requirement to facility
- Travel may be required to work at different facility locations
- Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language
- Interacting with Emergency Response Personnel discussions and/or training regarding environmental, health and safety situations
- Hazardous materials response/remediation duties in case of spill
- Ability to work in extreme conditions and with hazardous chemicals
