Operator / Truck Driver

Job Summary
Truck Driver/Operator to split time between driving heavy trucks and operating excavators across construction sites, quarries and local roads in Taranaki. Responsibilities include driving trucks to transport metal, soil, and aggregate between sites, operating excavators for bulk excavation and trenching (loading/unloading trucks as needed), supporting civil construction work (drainage, roading, pavement construction, site preparation) and stepping into labouring tasks when required. Complete daily pre-start checks, basic maintenance and cleaning of trucks and machinery, and maintain accurate logbooks and paperwork. Requires proven experience driving trucks in civil construction or contracting environments and operable excavator experience; Class 4 licence with W, T, R endorsements. Located in New Plymouth, NZ; in-person role.
Required Qualifications
- Class 4 driver licence (minimum)
- Current W, T, R endorsements to operate wheels, tracks and rollers
- Proven experience driving trucks in a civil construction or contracting environment
- Demonstrated experience operating excavators on work sites in urban and brown field environments
