Operator Trainee

Job Summary
Monitor and control chemical process units and equipment, including pumps, compressors, reactors, and distillation columns, to ensure safe, efficient, and on-spec production. Perform product transfers, basic maintenance tasks, and operational calculations for flow, pressure, and temperature control while interpreting process diagrams and analyzer data to maintain optimal operating conditions. Adhere to all company procedures and regulatory requirements (PSM, DOT, EPA, OSHA) to manage hazardous waste and sample products for quality control. Maintain accurate logs of shift activities and production data, supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. This role reports directly to the Supervisor General at the Bayport Facility in Pasadena, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Process Technology degree
- 2 years or more of experience in a chemical manufacturing role/environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Computer skills including spreadsheet use
- High level of attention to detail, procedures and documentation
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years' experience as a Process Operator in a chemical manufacturing environment
