Job Summary

Monitor equipment start, stop, and operation while recording activities in logs and adjusting parameters within operating limits. Perform mechanical and electrical diagnosis, maintenance, and repair tasks, including overhaul and system improvements. Conduct chemical analysis and control for steam, cooling, and condensate systems while maintaining chemistry logs. Assist in developing standard operational procedures and inputting ideas for plant efficiency and safety. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Operate heavy equipment such as manlifts and forklifts and handle bulk chemicals. Requires journey-level experience with hazardous materials and test equipment calibration.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, degree from technical/vocational school, military service or equivalent
  • Journey-level; generally, 6 years directly related experience
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Previous experience working with and around hazardous energy, chemicals and waste materials
  • Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and transport
  • Previous experience using test equipment and calibration appliances
  • Experience with machinery repair and control systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity and mathematics
  • Basic certifications/licensures
  • Valid state driver's license
