Job Summary
Operator role at Sotera Health focusing on monitoring sterilization/processing systems: observe pressure, temperature, and relative humidity on charts or computer monitors; adjust valves and controls for safe equipment operation; monitor sterilizers and assist with repairs; document process readings; report issues to supervisors; perform some preventative maintenance; handle chemicals per procedures; participate in plant safety committees; support other tasks as assigned. Requires High School Diploma or GED, 6 months–1 year in a sterilization environment (preferred), ability to read/write/speak fluent English, math skills for measurements, ability to lift 50 pounds, forklift experience, and comfort with high temp/high humidity environments; respirator use clearance and willingness to work established shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum six months to one year of experience in a sterilization environment (desired)
- Must read, write and speak fluent English
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending/lifting
- Must have forklift driving experience
- Willing to work established shifts
- Must be medically approved for respirator use
- Ability to tolerate high temperatures and high humidity (120F and 60% RH for 20 minutes)
