Operator/Set-up Thickness Grind

Set-up and run production for thickness grinding of high-speed steel and carbide blades. Inspect print dimensions and parts for taper using a digital indicator stand, while checking ground surfaces for size and flatness specifications. Change grinding and truing wheels as required, wash parts, and maintain low absenteeism and tardiness. Correctly report job transactions and fill out NCRs for blades not meeting quality standards. Plan product flow through the cell to maintain due dates, read blueprints, and use micrometers and calipers properly. Work in a safe manner, access on-line work instructions, and communicate operation problems to department leaders.
