Job Summary
Advanced level operator responsible for monitoring and controlling water/wastewater treatment plant operations, interpreting laboratory data, and making process adjustments. May supervise junior operators and assume the shift during the absence of a supervisor. Responsible for following safety guidelines and handling chemicals, maintaining process logs, and communicating effectively. Operates via SCADA, supports documentation, and may assist in budget/equipment procurement. Essential personnel required to report during emergencies or inclement weather; strong leadership and independent decision-making abilities are needed.
Required Qualifications
- Four years of experience in water/wastewater treatment facility
- Must include two years of team leader or supervisory experience
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (or predecessor agency) Class B Water or Wastewater Operator's License required
- High school diploma or GED; sixty college credit hours preferred or equivalent technical education
