Job Summary
Mix, blend, and formulate batches of raw ingredients into finished liquid flavors and vanilla items according to work orders, formulas, and quality standards. Verify batch weights through calculations, pull product samples for quality analysis, and sign off on batch reports after checking for foreign materials or rework. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices for food product care and report any violations. Lift up to 50-pound packages and handle 55-gallon drums safely. Assist Team Leader and Production Supervisor in training new employees and performing competency reviews. Requires 3-5 years of related experience and previous food plant experience helpful.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and in accordance with company safety and sanitation standards
- 3-5 years related experience
- Previous food plant experience
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities of a Production Tech I (kettle packing, serac, pail filler, drum line, flavor room 3 tank operations, label printing, and SAP)
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities of a Production Tech II (liquid compounding, emulsions, vanilla blending, vanilla still operation, and SAP)
- Must be able to lift up to and including 50-pound packages in a safe manner
- Must be able to handle heavier packages including 55-gallon drums
- Ability to verify batch weights and quantities through mathematical calculations
- Ability to understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the care, handling and storage of food products
- Ability to properly and accurately sign off for raw materials retrieved
- Ability to check for foreign materials, rework generated, finished product produced, date and time completed on computer generated batch reports
- Ability to understand and follow procedures for pulling product samples for quality analysis

- Ability to assist Team Leader and Production Supervisor in training new employees and performing competency reviews as needed
