Job Summary
Set up, configure, and operate the sheet feed press to produce high-quality print products while supervising and supporting the feeder. Access the batching system to review schedules, examine job orders for specifications, and monitor press cycles to ensure optimum performance and quality checks. Lead and direct the assistant operator through on-the-job training and mentor junior colleagues. Maintain and troubleshoot the machine for basic repairs, actively remove waste for recycling, and complete all required paperwork. Adhere to safety policies, wear assigned PPE, and report workplace hazards immediately. Perform general housekeeping duties and attend department meetings. Primary schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 05:00 AM to 01:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) – five (5) years' experience as a Komori Sheet Fed Press Operator
- Proven mechanical aptitude and experience performing Sheet Fed Press maintenance and minor repairs
- Strong problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected challenges, such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, or errors in print quality
- Ability to adapt to new printing technologies or changes in production schedules
- Ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality
- Precision in monitoring print jobs to ensure all details, such as color accuracy, image sharpness, and print placement, meet the required standards
- Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English
- Strong foundational math skills, with the ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in managing time, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks accurately
- Constant or frequent standing, walking, squatting, stopping, crouching and reaching
- Some kneeling and the use of feet to operate machinery
- Frequent use of hands/fingers to operate machine and/or handle and grasp product
- Frequent lifting or moving product weighing up to 50 pounds at, below or above shoulder level
- Close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to see the differences between colors, shades, and brightness
- Must be available for 1st shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week
- Primary schedule will be 05:00 AM – 01:30 PM, or similar
- Must wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Must adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Must report workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and or/near misses to management immediately
