Job Summary
Operator Maintainer – Mechanical located between Roma and Scotia, FIFO from Brisbane on a 2 and 2 roster. Responsible for safe execution of preventative and corrective maintenance on plant and field equipment, including inspection, testing, repairing, and data recording. Duties include conducting scheduled compliance activities (>90% completion), initiating and guiding large jobs with contractors, delivering quality work on first pass, supporting safety culture and embedded safety systems, executing daily maintenance safely with detailed reports in maintenance systems, planning emergency/urgent work, troubleshooting faults, performing Critical Control Verifications, and contributing to continuous improvement in maintenance processes. Requires trade-qualified mechanical qualifications, extensive experience in CSG environments, and hands-on exposure to Caterpillar gas engines, Ariel compressors, Howden screw compressors, Siemens gas turbines, TEG packages, rotating equipment, and related systems. Proficiency with E-Permit to Work and Maintenance Management Systems, HYTORQ, bolt-stretching, flange management, and risk assessment. Candidates with live gas plant experience are highly regarded. The role supports Santos’ safety, reliability, and energy-goals culture and offers site-based team collaboration and 2/2 FIFO from Brisbane.
Required Qualifications
- Trade-qualified Mechanical professional (Certificate Qualification essential)
- Significant experience in CSG environments
- Proficient with computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Experience with safety systems and risk mitigation
- Ability to plan and execute maintenance and emergency work
- Live gas plant experience highly regarded
