Job Summary
Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, wastewater, sludge, and effluent while adjusting valves, gates, pumps, engines, and generators manually or by remote control. Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels; observe and report abnormalities to supervisors. Maintain shift logs, record meter and gauge readings, collect samples, and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses. Conduct equipment maintenance, plant servicing operations, and custodial duties while following oral and written directions. Work an 8-hour shift in environments with noise, machinery, confined spaces, fumes, and chemicals, all required PPE provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout an 8-hour shift
- Comfort working in environments with noise, machinery, confined spaces, fumes, and chemicals
- Reliable attendance
- Strong commitment to safety

- Knowledge of engines, pumps, and related equipment operation and maintenance
- Basic understanding of biological and chemical principles related to water treatment
- General maintenance experience
- Safe work practices
