Job Summary
Perform routine checks of small water and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with TCEQ regulations under the supervision of the operations manager. Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance, schedule work as needed, and investigate issues such as water leaks, pressure, quality, and customer meter-related problems. Execute flushing procedures per SOPs and TCEQ requirements while maintaining a clean driving record and professional field demeanor. Work 40+ hours per week in loud, hot environments or extreme weather while wearing required PPE. Obtain both a TCEQ Class D Water and Class D Wastewater license within one year of hire to operate the facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- TCEQ Class D Water license
- TCEQ Class D Wastewater license
- Clean driving record
- Basic math skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Discretion with confidential information
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail
- Experience with basic accounting software
- Experience with compliance software
- Experience with financial analysis software
- Ability to see 20-20 when corrected
- Ability to perform substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials
- Ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE
- 40+ hours/week availability
