Job Summary
Perform unskilled and routine maintenance tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant on an assigned shift. Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, sludge, and effluent under direction, while monitoring gauges, meters, and control panels. Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to adjust flow and treatment processes. Maintain shift logs, record meter and gauge readings, take samples, and perform process control laboratory tests. Follow established safety procedures and adhere to written and oral instructions. Must be fit and able to work overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Water level I Certification
- Minimum of one year of water experience
- Must be fit and able to work overtime
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operations of engines, pumps, and related equipment
- Knowledge of general maintenance work
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Knowledge of basic biological and chemical principles
